Novan Construction, Inc. is a general contractor and construction management company located in Auburn, AL. We focus on commercial construction throughout the southeast. We are a growing company and are looking to add new members to our team.

The Project Engineer will provide support to the Project Manager by assisting in the management of job sites, including daily productions, safety, labor and equipment scheduling, and management of subcontractors.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Daily management of subcontractors, monitoring their performance, and ensuring contract compliance
• Management of the project construction schedule and working with others to provide forecast schedule
• Reviewing and gathering product submittals and shop drawings against specifications for compliance
• Ensuring all the construction team members in the field have the latest site specific work plan, drawings, and product submittals, management tools, forms and procedures, etc. necessary for the work
• Coordinating day-to-day field activities between different functions such as management, procurement, construction, engineering, project controls, document controls, etc.
• Creating and tracking RFI’s, change requests, correspondence, non-compliances, etc. that are related to construction
• Maintaining a daily job report, which must include daily progress of the project and document all unusual incidents such as injuries or any unplanned job site occurrence
• Collaborating with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees, and ensuring that personnel engages in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge and efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-aided drawing programs such as AutoCAD and/or Microstation
• Broad understanding of the construction industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• English/Korean bilingual preferred – Spanish speakers also a plus
• Basic math skills
• Functions effectively as part of a team
• Dependability
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Good time management skills and organizational skills
• Ability to read drawings and specifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• Must have minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a construction-related field.
• OSHA Safety Certification is a plus.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Travel is required.
