    Summary of Functions
    As a strategic partner, the Production Assembly Specialist coordinates and expedites the flow of work and labor processing within the production assembly department according to the production schedule. These duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and personnel schedules, conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates, and compiling reports on progress of work, labor hours, costs, and production problems. Most of their time is spent on business and organizational aspects of production assembly. Accordingly, duties may also include monitoring production rates, throughput, and labor costs. Most tasks involve keeping and updating records and information, as well as coordinating production schedules with management and co-workers.

    Principle Responsibilities
    • Distributes production schedules and work orders to production assembly department.
    • Reviews documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing spreadsheets to determine personnel or materials requirements and priorities.
    • Requisitions and maintains personnel records or production assembly parts necessary to meet production demands.
    • Confers with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
    • Revises production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, human resources, production, quality control or engineering.
    • Confers with establishment personnel and customers to coordinate production activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
    • Examines documents, materials, or products and monitors work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
    • Records production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, or quality control measures.
    • Calculates figures, such as required amounts of labor materials, manufacturing costs, or wages, using pricing schedules, adding machines, calculators, or computers.
    • Coordinates operational activities by planning production commitments or timetables for business units, specific programs, or jobs, using sales forecasts.
    • Compiles information, such as production rates and progress, assembly materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, to complete status reports.
    • Compiles and prepares documentation related to production sequences, personnel schedules, and maintenance, or repair orders.
    • Establishes and prepares product construction directions and locations and information on required tools, materials, equipment, numbers of workers needed, and cost projections.
    • Provides documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, or changes to cost estimates.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in automobile manufacturing preferred.
    • Experience with a manufacturing or processing company.
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload.
    • Team player with high energy and a can-do attitude.
    • Bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred, Korean is a plus.
    • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
    • Required to have effective communication skills both verbal as well as written.
    • Overtime expected and required on short notice, with flexibility based on plant production schedules.
    • Strong math skills, with capability of understanding and conducting basic arithmetic and statistical operations.
    • Ability to quickly recognize errors and inconsistencies in numerical data (good analysis skills).
    • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Close attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

    Physical Requirements
    The ability to lift up to 25 pounds to move objects is required. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform low physical work indoors with minimum exposure to dust. Walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, standing, grasping, balancing, climb, kneeling, and crouching are generally required for some assignments.
    • Demonstrate the ability to hear and have specific vision abilities to adjust focus, in an environment subject to noise, dust, etc.
    • The office is located inside the plant with equipment noise and frequent interruptions such as phone calls and contact with staffs.

    Starting Salary: $50k/year ($24.04/hour), hourly, non-exempt
