올해 9월 1일부터 EAD카드 시작 되었습니다.
그와 동시에, 졸업한 학교에서 포닥으로 일을하고 있는데요.

문제는 학교에 이 사실을 레포트하지 않았습니다. 어제서야 생각이 나서 등록을 했는데 (90일이 지나버렸네요), 이렇게 되면 이미 OPT가 끝나있게 되는건가요? 매우 불안하네요.

학교 인터네셔널 센터에 알아보았습니다. 다행히 OPT가 active한 상태로 남아 있습니다. 물론 최초 일한 날짜를 입력한 상태구요. SEVIS시스템 상으로는 언제 입력했는지 알수있는 방법이 없는듯 합니다. 하지만, OPT가 inactive되기 전에 입력해야하는 것 같습니다.

참고로 아직까지는 OPT기간에 unemployed 된 기간을 계산하고 있는것 같지는 않습니다. 자동계산 시스템이 아직 도입되지 않은듯. 아래는 그에 관련한 서신 내용입니다.

At this point in time, it shouldn’t make a difference that you reported your employment late. SEVIS is not yet running inquiries on the 90 days of unemployment yet, but they may begin soon, so now that your information is in there, you shouldn’t have to worry.

I’ve started my OPT 9-1-2009 with EAD card, and I’ve worked as a post-
doc from the same time. Unfortunately, I didn’t report that I am a employee (post-doc) until 12-10-2009. It means I reported my enrollment after 100 days. I’m afraid if that affects my OPT
status. Is my OPT still alive? Does my OPT go inactive after 90 days without proof for the employment? Would you mind checking my files?
