    Kwangjin was established in 1973, with 13 factories located in Korea, India, China, Vietnam, Mexico and U.S.A. One thousand five hundred employees over the world manufacture and supply door modules, window regulators and other body hardware parts for Hyundai/Kia Motors, General Motors, VW, Chrysler and other OEMs.
    Kwangjin America, a subsidiary of Kwang Jin Korea and is a Tier 1 supplier to General Motors and Chrysler. Kwangjin America is located in the City of Warren, Michigan.

    DEPARTMENT: Quality

    We have an immediate requirement for a: Quality Engineer (QE)

    Position is responsible for executing Quality Control, Quality System and assurance at plant. Position will drive process and systemic quality improvements using SPC, GR&R, Lean and Six Sigma tools to prevent quality non-conformances. Position is responsible for effective execution of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) disciplines for new program and on time PPAP submission and approval. Individual will be responsible for implementation of inspection/containment/root cause analysis of customer complaints. Individual will be required to work with production, material, engineering and purchasing to meet strategic quality goals and for change management.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    -Manage quality control and quality assurance function daily basis to make sure the quality and delivery of the product on time.
    -Support new program development APQP activities throughout the life cycle of the program including DFMEA, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, Prototype build, DV/PV validation, standard operator work instructions, check sheets, boundary samples and error-proofing verification samples, Run @ Rate and GP12.
    -Lead and drive PFEMA, Control Plans Measurement Systems, Process Capability studies and Error Proofing activities for new and current program
    -Serves as interim acting leader when Manager is unavailable.
    -Manage and respond customer complaints and contain within 24hours with containment plan.
    -Maintain adherence to company policies, safety, ergonomics, environmental standards and good housekeeping practices like 5S
    -Lead corrective action teams using problem solving tools (such as 8-D, 5 Why, Fishbone, DMIAC) for customer, supplier, and internal concerns.
    -Manage/Reviews suppliers/customers PPAPs and to make sure all PPAPs submissions meet customer specific requirements.
    -Conducts and support quality audits: Customer specifics, Process & Product audit, LPA, Internal audits regularly basis.
    -Responsible for Part’s IMDS submission and approval.
    -Lead and drive daily scrap review meeting, material disposition and continuous improvement projects.
    -Supervise and manage incoming inspection per inspection agreement daily basis
    -Manage & assign daily tasks to QC technicians and
    -Ability to travel domestically and internationally for suppliers/ customers visit to 40%.
    -Responsible for corporate and department KPI deliverables to complete monthly basis
    -Leads training of internal staff along with our functions on policy procedures, standard work instructions & GP12 & containment Work instructions.
    -Conduct special assignments as required by management

    Qualification:

    -Knowledge of IATF16949:2016, ISO and TS16949 quality systems
    -Experience working with automotive customers submitting PPAP documentation
    -Knowledge of SPC, Gage R&R studies, and Minitab
    -Understanding of problem solving tools (8-D, 5 Why’s, and Fishbone Analysis)

    -English required; other language a plus

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or related field

    EXPERIENCE

    -Engineering experience a plus
    -Purchasing experience a plus
    -Automotive related experience required
    -Knowledge or Experience with stampings, plastic injection molding, electronics/ DC motor commodities a plus
    -Experience using Microsoft office software (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
