    Job Description

    Specific responsibilities of the In-country relationship manager will involve the following:
    Be the client sponsor for all Commercial Banking (CB) relationships in the location and,
    Ensure that all on-boarding and KYC requirements relating to the CB clients are compliant with local regulations.
    Provide the necessary oversight and local accountability to document new/revised credit facilities (if any) as well as new transactional or service activities in the local jurisdiction to conform with JPM Chase policies and with local jurisdictional requirements for credit documents, Compliance, Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), etc.
    Perform ongoing due diligence of credit quality and client activities to ensure sufficient local knowledge content is available to support ongoing credit evaluation and decision making at the parent level as well as provide sufficient local content to meet local regulatory expectations.
    Maintain open, clear, fluid communication with regional MNBs and all internal stakeholders.
    Promote and deliver tailored financial solutions to clients via partnership with, and coordination of, all product and service teams across the firm to optimise outcome.
    Establish local contact with the client’s subsidiary working closely with Regional MNBs, ICBs and parent bankers to manage and support growth of local subsidiaries of U.S. based Commercial Bank customers. Subsidiary companies can range in size from tens of millions annual turnover up to hundreds of millions (US$).
    Ensure on-going local subsidiary contact and relationship to support all client requirements locally. Typical client requirements will focus on financing, risk & treasury management. Types of credit facilities range from working capital lines with parent guarantee support to syndicated transactions.
    Ensure necessary oversight and onshore accountability to support local client on-boarding, partnering with local risk management (e.g., Compliance, Legal, Tax, etc.) and middle/back office teams as needed to support transactional, service or credit activities.
    As it relates to local KYC, ensure regular client visits and documentation reviews are completed as per local country & regulatory requirements.
    Liaise with CB KYC team regionally and with Arlington team, as well as local teams to facilitate local KYC.
    Keep Regional/global origination team members abreast of all local activities as well as market/regulatory changes if any. Where applicable under data privacy policy, copy them on all calls reports and client reviews. Actively participate in AML/OFAC surveys and ensure that all action plans with regard to risk-controlled self assessments and audit issues are satisfactorily resolved.
    Liaise with internal, regulatory and statutory auditors and assist in providing the data, information and supporting documents as and when required.
    Promote and sustain strong engagement and mutually beneficial relationships with key internal stakeholders including but not limited to: the immediate Commercial Banking Team, US based International Coverage Bankers, US Parent Bankers, product and service delivery partners, Investment Banking teams, Underwriters and Credit Committees, Legal, Compliance, mid and back office support teams across the firm.
    Promote and sustain engagement and professionalism in dealings with external stakeholders on all matters relating to business operations including but not limited to; clients, prospects, market influencers, industry bodies and associations, external legal counsel, auditors and regulators.
    The highest professional standards, value add approach and effectiveness in contributing to the strategic direction and performance against business objectives are expected at all times.

    Qualifications

    Minimum 8-10 years industry experience with a strong command of Korean financial services markets, regulatory environment, corporate banking products, debt products, cash management, trade finance & derivatives.
    Extensive relationship management and credit risk management expertise in the corporate &/or MNC market segments. Relevant international banking experience in the US, UK or Asian markets would be a strong advantage.
    Proven expertise in credit analysis, structuring and negotiating domestic and cross border credit risk transactions, both in bilateral and syndicated formats.
    Excellent client relationship management skills together with well-developed business development skills.
    Proven ability to work professionally and effectively across diverse product and service capabilities.
    Excellence in oral and written communication with proven strength for personal engagement.
    Self-starting with clear results orientation and a capacity to operate independently, appropriately balancing short, medium and long term objectives.
    Flexibility to co-ordinate and manage multiple transactions and processes contemporaneously ensuring delivery against deadlines, client expectations and business priorities.
    Ability to work consistently across different time zones and geographies, dealing with numerous stakeholders.
    Enthusiastic and team orientated.
