It may take several weeks and we will contact you of any further steps necessary and/or when it is complete 에 체크가 되어 있더군요 (221(g항)에 근거한 비자 거절) 여권도 다시 돌려받았습니다. 흑인 영사였는데 별로 질문도 하지 않고 추가적인 절차가 더 필요하다고 다음주에 다시 연락준다고 그러더군요. 참고로 전 작년 8월부터 Asistant Professor로 일하기 시작했고 OPT로 있었습니다. 아무리 생각해도 리젝 이유가 뭔지 모르겠네요. 직업도 확실하고 서류도 완벽하게 준비했고 물어보는 질문에 전부 대답하고…

 

혹시라도 리젝 이유가 뭔지 아시는 분들은 답변 좀 부탁드릴께요.

올리신 내용만으로는 원인이 뭔지 잘 모르겠지만 PIMS Verification 문제일 수도 있을 것 같습니다. 근데 보통 PIMS 문제는 여권을 되돌려주지는 않긴 하는데.. 한번 대사관 측에 문의를 해보셔야 할 것 같네요.

There should be a check mark in the green letter as to what additional documents they are requesting. And at the bottom of the letter, there should be a check mark on which method you should use to submit that additional document(s) requested.

저와 같은 상황이시군요. 지금까지 기다리고 있는데, 못해도 한달은 더 기다려야 할 것 같네요. 다음주에 연락준다고 하는건 내부팀으로부터 전화가 올꺼예요. 무슨무슨 서류 이메일로 보내라는,,, 참고로 이건 PIMS 는 아니예요. 저도 그것이길 기대했는데…. PIMS 문제는 녹색용지 안주더라구요.

저도 그 흑인 영사. 질문도 평이하고 그랬는데 20분 걸렸습니다. 끝내 “additional processing is required.” 그 사람만 그런건가 하는 아쉬움이 남네요.

직업도 확실하고 서류도 확실하고,,, 그거 중요하지 않더라구요. 인터뷰하는 사람이 아니라하면 아닌것 같아요. 인터넷 찾아보니 일종의 신원조회 같은거라고 하더군요. 하지만 시간이 많이 걸리나봐요. 다행히 교수시니 방학기간 끝나면 들어가실 수 있을것 같네요. 회사가야하는 사람은 어쩌란 말인지…

저는 하루하루 신앙의 힘으로 살고 있습니다. 계획은 내가 할지라도 걷게 하시는 이는 주님이시라는 말씀으로 그분의 때로 기다리고 있네요. 님께도 이번일을 계기로 더 좋은 많은 일들이 일어나길 바라겠습니다.

An adviser reports that an H-1B was approved for consular processing by USCIS and should have been in PIMs. The scholar applied for the H-1B visa in Paris, France, and the processing was suspended due to 221 (g). She went back to the consulate and was informed that the underlying reason for suspended processing was that her approval was not registered in PIMS, and that “only her employer can resolve this problem.” When the adviser at her University contacted USCIS Service Center’s Premium Processing Unit, the Service Center confirmed with the KCC that the case has been entered in PIMs.
a. Questions: Should the consulates be referring the scholars back to their institutions?

DOS response: Yes, if CIS has no record of the petition approval. Consulates should be checking with KCC first.

NAFSA note: If the petition confirmation number is not in CLAIMS, the applicant may be asked to provide more detailed information.

b.Can more information be provided to applicants regarding the process for PIMs verification at the time they are notified of suspended processing?

DOS response: As noted above, if we can’t verify it ourselves we will ask applicants for their assistance.
