    Job Summary

    This position is for a Middleware Administrator responsible for the support and maintenance of enterprise Middleware environments running on Solaris and LINUX. The middleware stack includes Apache, Tomcat, Oracle Application server (OAS), WebLogic and Oracle Http Server(OHS). This includes the design and implementation of High Availability solutions including backup and recovery, leading performance tuning activities to maintain high service levels and system performance, capacity planning and management reporting about the health of the application environments. Work closely with all functional groups to assure a smooth implementation and to insure compliance with all corporate adopted system standards and directions. Provide technical support to Telematics Engineering teams in the development of projects running on the application server. Responsible for ensuring application environments meet security best practices. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as an effective team member. 

     

    Job Responsibilities

     

    – 24 X 7 oncall production support of multiple middleware instances to include tuning and troubleshooting
    – Install, upgrade, and configure Oracle Weblogic, Oracle Application Server and other middleware components.  Looking for strong Weblogic skills.
    – Should have experience with deploying J2EE Applications on Weblogic and Oracle Application Server
    .
    – Experience in writing automation scripts in WLST, Ant, Jython or Python and knowledge of Shell scripts.
    – Perform and document technical administration and troubleshooting of middleware components including custom J2EE applications.
    – Understands the technical architecture and functionality of the system in order to provide suggestions to migrate conflicts between the design and technical requirements.
    – Work in conjunction with other IT, application development, and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements from the middleware perspective.

     

    Experience

    – A bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, math, sciences or technical discipline
    4+ years’ experience in Middleware Administration in large multi-server, highly available production environment, Weblogic experience preferred , Another middleware experience is required, in addition.

     

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    Experience in Implementing, configuring and maintaining highly scalable environments required

    -Must have good written and verbal communication skills, and interface directly with program development and management    

    -Extensive knowledge of Unix Operating Systems a plus

    -Solaris Preferred
