I’ve been working for about 3 years with green card in US.I’d like to retire early(10 years; 7 years to go)and go back to Korea.

In this caes,I don’t know if I could get some pension from government.

Also,I have pension from company after 5 years of service.how much I get after resign.Do I get 80% of my last anual salary every month until I die?

Pension from the government? Do you mean it by social security benefit?
How many years have you worked in the US? I’m not sure it’s 20 or 30years of work to be eligible enjoy the SS. But once you fulfill the required years of work with paying SS, you can get social security benefit when you retire at age of 65 (It will be 67 or 70 later since the govn’t is trying to reduce the social sec. payback -> By reducing the years that recipents can enjoy the benefit, the govn,t can reduce their debt, social security. Yea…they really want us to die early. You can also have “limited social security benefit”,if you retire at 62. I guess you have to come to the US once every six month to be eligible to get the US SS benefit if you are going to live in Korea.

You need to work at least 10 years in US to receive Social Security benefit. Also you need to stay in the US to get the benefit.
If you want to retire early, you need to plan early and thoroughly. I think you need to study about all the benefits from Goverment and your Company.

you need to stay in the US to get the benefit.

      >I guess I don’t have come to the US once every six month and stay to get the benefit if I’m a citizen.
