cash value가 있는 종신보험일 경우, FBAR 신고 시 해약환급금으로 신고를 해야 하는지 아니면 지금까지 불입한 총액으로 신고를 해야 하는지 궁금합니다.

저도 search를 해보았는 데 명확한 답이 없습니다.
하지만 저같으면 해약환급금으로 신고할 것같습니다. 돈을 내어 보았자 100% 돌려받지 못하면 investment이라고 할 수없을 것같습니다.

irs instruction에 있는 내용으로 fair market value – 즉 지금 현금으로 만들어 질 수있는 금액입니다. 거기에 기준해서 대답했는 데 다른 분의 의견은 어떤 지 궁금하네요.
