제 와이프가 지금 어학원을 다니고 있고 커뮤니티 칼리지로 트랜스퍼 준비중입니다. 이미 학교에서 어드미션도 받았고 다 괜찮은데 opt에 대해 그사람들이 잘 모르네요. 워낙 international들이 없는 학교라 그런것 같긴 한데.
1년(2학기 fulltime) certificate 프로그램(stem은 아닙니다)인데 졸업하고 opt가 나오나요? 제가 이것 저것 알아본 봐로는 certificate program도 나온다는 답변이었고 4-5개월 certificate프로그램은 안나온다고 그러더군요. 1년짜리 certificate 프로그램도 나오는 프로그램이 있고 안나올수 있는 프로그램이 있나요?

Optional Practical Training (OPT) is temporary employment that is directly related to an F-1 student’s major area of study. Eligible students can apply to receive up to 12 months of OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies (pre-completion) and/or after completing their academic studies (post-completion). However, all periods of pre-completion OPT will be deducted from the available period of post-completion OPT.

Can I get opt After certificate program?
Students are not allowed to take classes during OPT. Students are eligible for one year of OPT after completing a certificate, Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and PHD program (in that successive order). Students may not do OPT after two different programs at the same level.

어떤 전공인지 모르지만 주변에서 일년(두 학기) 짜리 과정 하고 certificate 받고 (나름? 전문분야, 스템 아님) opt 승인 받은 경우 봤습니다.

지금은 정확히기억안나는데 오피티는 조건이있습니다
3쿼터 혹은 9개월이상 학업을 하고 프로그램을 정상적으로 수료한 경우입니다.
제가 알기론 어학연수 프로그램만 아니면 나오는 것으로 알고있으나 반드시 어드바이저에게 확답을 얻으시기바랍니다

아시다시피 미국은 뭔가 허술해서 물어봤는데 이게 맞나 저게 맞나 이런 애매한 답변만 들어서 스스로 알아서 찾아보고 있습니다. 많은 도움이 되었습니다. 감사합니다.
