Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Purchasing Specialist to lead our procurement initiatives and optimize supply chain operations. In this pivotal role, you will manage sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and oversee supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of quality materials and services. Your expertise will drive cost efficiencies, enhance procurement processes, and support manufacturing and production planning activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where strategic sourcing and supply chain management are key to success.Duties
Lead procurement activities by developing sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals and category management principles.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable conditions while ensuring compliance with federal acquisition regulations and company policies.
Manage supplier relationships through regular performance evaluations, root cause analysis of supply issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to process purchase orders, monitor MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and track procurement metrics.
Collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and quality management teams to coordinate materials management and production planning efforts.
Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities, evaluate supplier capabilities, and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Oversee contract management processes, ensuring all agreements meet legal standards and organizational requirements for procurement management.Qualifications
Proficiency in Purchasing Processes and fundamentals of Purchasing and Purchase Management
Experience managing Purchase Orders and overseeing procurement activities
Strong Analytical Skills for evaluating supplier metrics and improving cost efficiencies
Keen attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
Effective communication and negotiation skills for vendor and stakeholder interactions
Proficiency in procurement software and other relevant tools
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is an asset
