Does anyone have an experience on having an AC compressor fixed or replaced?
Mine (for Daewoo Nubira) has ceased to work(^; and the mechanic said the compresor needs to be replaced, which costs about $1.4K… which is way too much than I could imagine. Turning the AC doesn’t give me any cool air and I hope it still might be a sensor or other minor (than compressor itself) problem. I am trying to get 2nd opinion but it would be helpful if anybody with experience on this (or similar) can give me some reasonable estimation and/or any further insights on this problem.

컴프레서 교환에 $1400은 아무래도 바가지처럼 보이는군요.
A/C 스위치를 on/off 시켰을때 컴프레서가 돌아갔다 섰다 하는 소리가 들리지 않는다면 컴프레서 문제가 거의 확실한 듯 하고 만약 문제가 없다면 냉매 압력이 정상인지 확인해 보세요. 압력이 낮으면 냉매가 떨어진 상태니 보충해야 되고 이 경우 어디선가 새는 곳이 있다면 물론 막아 줘야 하는데 이 것도 냉매 주입시 새는 곳 막아 주는 킷이 월마트 등에 있습니다.
