Career growth within a high-growth organizationWe are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Accounting Manager to lead month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls for a fast-growing multi-brand distribution business.
This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, driving timely reporting, and partnering cross-functionally to support operational and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, along with hands-on experience in distribution, retail, or CPG environments.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
Lead and manage full month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Maintain and optimize close calendar and reporting timelines
Review revenue recognition and COGS accuracy
Retail & Distribution Accounting
Oversee accounting for major retail accounts (e.g., Costco, Ulta, Target)
Monitor chargebacks, deductions, and promotional allowances
Review trade spend, co-op accruals, and TPD accounting
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation
Analyze gross margins by channel and brand
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare internal management reports and variance analysis
Support external audits and tax filings
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and strengthen internal controls
Maintain documentation for revenue, inventory, and expense policies
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
Monitor AR aging and deduction exposure
Partner with operations on inventory planning and reserves
Support forecasting and budgeting processes
Analyze working capital trends
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Supervise and mentor accounting staff (if applicable)
Enhance ERP workflows and reporting automation
Implement best practices for financial controls
Support system upgrades and process optimization initiativesQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
5+ years of accounting experience
2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Experience in distribution, retail, or CPG environments preferred
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Experience with ERP systems required
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
Experience managing retailer deductions and chargebacks
Background in inventory-heavy business models
Experience with multi-entity and/or international operations
