전부터 이 게시판을 지켜보신 몇몇 분들은 아시겠지만, 제 485는 2002년

10월 말에 접수가 되었습니다. (정확히는 10월 24일이 receipt date 입니다.)

최근에 계속 processing time update을 보면 CA service center에서 2001년

11월/12월 file된 case들이 process 되고 있다고 하길래 앞으로도 한 1-2년

은 넉넉 잡고 기다려야 되지 않을까 생각하고 있었죠.

근데 오늘 갑자기 아래와 같은 mail을 attorney로 부터 받았습니다.

> The Immigration Service has requested the information

> below in connection with your Adjustment of status

> application. Please provide the documentation below

> to our office as soon as possible.

> Please provide copies of your personal income tax forms,

> including W-2’s for the three most recent tax years.

> Also, submit the three most recent check stubs from your

> current employer.

이게 웬일인가 싶어서 attorney한테 질문을 했죠.

California service center is reported to be processing AOS cases

that were filed on or after 12/16/2001, while my case was filed much

later on 10/24/2002. Are they processing my case ahead of schedule,

or are they just pre-screening applications? I’m quite surprised to

get this email from you.

그랬더니 답이 이렇게 왔습니다.

The processing times are not always exact.

확실한 건지는 모르겠지만, 아무튼 제 case가 process 되고 있는 것 같긴

합니다. Request 된 서류를 제출하면 얼마나 빨리 처리가 될지는 모르

겠지만 그래도 생각했던 것 만큼 오래 기다리지 않아도 될 것 같아 기분이

좋네요.
