미국 회사 생활 3년차인 engineer입니다.
근데 회사에서 401K로 matching을 많이 시켜주는데요… 수많은 mutual fund option중에
어떤곳에 투자를 할지 솔직히 봐두 잘 이해가 안가네요. 그래서 그냥 기본적인 balanced에 2년동안 두었죠.
이자가 한9%붙었는것 같은데 (맞는지 모르겠지만요)
이제 좀 오래 살거라고 생각하니 저두 Investment와 retirement를 위한 경제적인 기본적인 상황 좀 이해하고 싶은데요.
경영경제쪽 아닌 사람도 좀 쉽게 이해할수 있는 책 소개부탁드립니다.

젊은 사람은 보통 High Return, High Risk에 40%, Medium Risk에 40%, Bond에 20% 정도로 Portfolio 구성합니다.

401k 신경 안쓰고 그냥 냅두는 거랑 Portfolio구성해서 넣어놓는 거랑 차이 꽤큽니다.

Assuming you are not a day-trader type and you are concerning more about the retirement, I would say you set up your style map first rther than looking for the performance of individual funds. This map tell you how you can diversfy (or how’s your cuurent diversfication) and risks. I think any investment firm’s web has a tool to find out your stype map, but you may want to go to http://www.morningstar.com as it is independant site (somewhat like Consumer Report in investment…) when you go to that site, you find a nine-box grid at the right top side. I think you can find more info on each grid there.
Th eyounger you are, in general, the more risk you may want to take. But regardless of your age, you better keep sync with the market, which means you put significant portion of your investment on the upper side of the style map. Good Luck
