I have a question regarding 401k.
The maximum amount which I can put into the 401k account is $14,000 a year, right?

The following is my question.

(1) If the company matches up to 40%, my and the company’s maximum portion is 10k and 4k respectively (combined 14k a year)?

(2) Or I can put maximum 14k and the company match up to 5.6k (40%) a year? (In this case, the maximum amount to the 401k account would be 19.6k a year)

Which one is correct, (1) or (2)?

Could somebody clarify this issue?

2006년 limit은 $15000입니다. employer match는 limit에 포함되지 않습니다.
