사실, 미국 IT기업(많은 실리콘밸리 비메모리반도체기업은 대만계가 많음)엔 이미 많은 중국계 엔지니어가 있어 사실상 IT기술인력분포에 있어 중국계가 인도다음으로 많아왔는데
최근 몇년사이 미국 IT기업 대다수 중국에 R&D 센터 잇따라 설립에 따라 중국 본토의 IT인력도 자연스레 이들 기술 익히게 되면서
사실상 중국 본토자체의 IT기술력도 세계적 수준에 몇년안에 도달하겠군요.
물론, 메모리,LCD,몇몇비메모리등 규모장치산업에선 한국이 계속 독주하겠지만…

참 중국정부 머리 잘쓰네요(외국자본 들어올때 기술유치를 전제조건으로 달아 놓으니…)
이들 미국 IT기업들 치명적 실수하고 있을 가능성도… 루슨트/노텔(중국계 많이 고용했다 이들이 중국본토로 많이 건너가면 기술 죄다 유출되 중국계 화웨이한테 금방 추격당하게 되었죠) 꼴 될수 있으니까 말이죠.

AMD opens major operation in Shanghai
Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal – 10:35 AM PDT Tuesday

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has opened a multimillion dollar Shanghai research and development center.

Initially, the research center’s engineering staff will focus on the development of Sunnyvale-based AMD (NYSE: AMD)AMD’s next-generation mobile platforms, but the center will also test AMD’s current and future microprocessors.

Located in the Zhang Jiang technology complex, AMD says it plans to employ “hundreds” of staff at the newly constructed operation, making it AMD’s largest system design hub outside the U.S.

Dirk Meyer, president and chief operating officer at AMD, says the new Shanghai operation will be the company’s largest single expansion of system design and customer support resources in AMD’s history. The new center “represents both our deep commitment to China and to moving more of our center of gravity closer to customers and technology end-users,” Meyer says.

The company says the new Shanghai center will benefit original equipment manufacturers and original design manufacturer customers such as Lenovo, Tongfang, Flocity, HP, IBM and Sun Microsystems, among others that have operations in the region.

어떻게 보면 질 좋은 IT 상품들의 가격도 저렴해지니 소비자 입장에서는 좋은걸수도 있겠네요… 최신 CPU 가격이 100불까지도 내려간다면…

한국보다는 이스라엘,싱가폴이 큰 타격을 받을겁니다.
미국 IT기업들이 이전에 이스라엘,싱가폴에 주로 R&D를 만들었었는데
상하이나 베이징한테 빼앗기니 말이죠.

글쎄요, 국내에서도 해외의 유수기업들로부터 R&D 센터를 유치했지만 거의 영업지점 정도로 운영되고 있다고 합니다.
실제 외국기업에서도 해외 R&D센터를 설립한다고 해서 핵심 기술을 연구개발하지는 않을겁니다.

맞는 말씀이죠. 한국보다야 낫겠지만 어디까지나 application레벨의 R&D일 겁니다. 앞으로는 더 두고봐야겠죠.

EETIMES에 이번 결정은 대만한테도 타격이라고 전하네요.
