Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding H.R. 3012, the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act. Your opinion is very important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this critical issue.
As you may know, H.R. 3012 would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act’s per country visa restrictions. The bill would phase out the per country limit for employment-based immigrants over a four year period. The bill would also increase the per-country cap on family visas from 7 percent to 15 percent.
The Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act was referred to the House Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement. While there is no similar bill in the Senate at this time, please beassured that I will keep your views in mind if such legislation is introduced.
Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. I invite you to visit my website (http://menendez.senate.gov) to learn more about how I am standing up for New Jersey families in the United States Senate.
