    Job Description

    Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
    Department: Maintenance

    Summary

    Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of the building and machinery.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Coordinates activities of workers fabrication or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products

    • Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

    • Directs workers engaged in performing structural repairs to furnishing of buildings.

    • Directs workers assisting other departments as requested.

    • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.

    • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

    • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

    • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

    • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

    • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.

    • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.

    • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.

    • Manages environmental project activities including scheduling, tracking, and planning for environmental assessments, site investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial action plans.

    • Develops compliance strategies to meet regulatory requirements.

    • Assesses environmental risk of activities and advises team members of environmental impact.

    • Interprets data and observation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines and advises management accordingly.

    • Prepares technical documentation for management’s use when dealing with regulatory agencies and other internal/external needs.

    • Maintains vacation records for direct reports

    • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

    • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

    • Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.

    • Develops preventative maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.

    • Requisitions and keeps supplies of tools, equipment, and supplies for operations.

    Supervisory Responsibilities
    Directly supervises maintenance technicians on three shifts and a support clerk. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
