김 유진 변호사님께서 정성껏 답변을 달아 주시고 성심껏 배려 해 주셔서 늘 감사를 드립니다. 며칠 전에 문의 사항에 대하여 제 Case 를 설명 드립니다. 답변을 부탁드립니다.제 Case:10월초에 가족 4명이 영주권을 받았습니다.올해 12월 초에 나이가 만 14살 되는 아들 있습니다. – 지문을 다시 찍어야 하는지 여부 및 영주권 갱신에 대한 문의에 대하여…지난 번에 김 유진 번호사님은 지문 (영주권갱신)을 다시 할 필요가 없다고 하셨습니다.그런데 아래와 같이 되어 있는 것을 인터넷에서 참고하였습니다.12월 초 14세가 되고난 이후에 다시 영주권 갱신(I-90) 을 해야 하나요?
이민국에서 publish 한 I-90 Instructions 에서 나온 글입니다:
“G1. I have reached my 14th birthday, and my existing card will not expire before my 16th birthday – Check this reason if you have reached your 14th birthday, and your current card will expire after your 16th birthday. When filing Form I-90 using this reason, submit a copy of your current Permanent Resident Card. You must include the biometrics fee only with this application if filing using reason G1. No application fee is required. You may select this reason only if your current card was issued prior to your 14th birthday, and you are now filing this application for registration purposes. Registration and fingerprinting are required within 30 days after a child reaches 14 years of age. After reaching 14 years of age, a legal permanent resident must register and submit Form I-90.”
