I wouldn't say the language skills are useless in career development in general, but I see no direct ways in which they are beneficial in engineering career. 2. Studying overseas can be enriching at personal level. Nothing more. Internship experience is extremely important. An internship overseas is certainly better than no experience. 3. Female engineering students in general have harder time in college, not really because of the inherent nature of the field. The field is fraught with male-led traditions and atmosphere, so even if people don't actively discriminate against women, the system or the common practices are oftentimes harder to deal with for women. Fortunately, many schools are changing and some started putting in serious efforts and policies in place to fight against this problem. Most large companies are far ahead of the game. I would say it is very different compared to what your teacher might have experienced. 4. The current interview practices are skewed toward quick problem solving, but that's just a quick way of weeding out potentially underperforming candidates. It often doesn't do justice, but is efficient for companies. It's the rule set forth for the game, so you have to play it, but it does not mean that's all that matters. What you learn from the school will certainly enrich you and come together eventually. In this field, ability to learn quickly is of paramount importance.
