If you think buying a home as an investment, think it again.

Consider property tax, maintenance cost, bigger bills for utility and etc.

Mortgage is a big liability. Tax benefit is dismal compared to all the cost caused by buying and living a home.

Most people are confused with the difference between quality of life and investment.

When "Dude Lee" talks about having kids play in backyard, it means the quality of life.

It is an expenditure, the opposite of investment.

When he talks about the appreciation, it is about a bad investment unless you live in California.

There is an opportunity cost hidden behind the appreciation, which most people ignore.

IHMO, buying and living a home is a not-so-good investment.

But, as "Dude Lee" says, it has an attractive side of it.

It is a economical way to bring some qualities into your life.

You will eventually have kids to play in the backyard, won’t you?

Good luck to you and "Lee".
