현재 opt는 끝난 상태고 최근에 h1b 승인을 받았습니다.
면허증이 opt 끝난 날짜로 끝나서 운전을 못하는 상태인데 h1b 시작날짜에 가야 dmv에서 면허증 연장을 해주나요?
지역은 뉴저지이구요, 혹시 지금 연장 받으신 분 있으신가요?

Tips for Renewing your Driver’s License While Waiting for Your H-1B Extension Approval

Look at your state’s licensing agency website for the renewal requirements. Most states provide a detailed list of the documents you need to renew your license.
If the website is not clear as to requirements, call the agency and specifically ask what documentation is needed and whether an I-129 Receipt Notice is accepted (federal form I-797). Many states will accept certain receipt notices along with other documents and issue temporary licenses based on those documents.
Personally go to the agency and take the following documents
Valid Passport
Expired Visa (or about to expire visa)
Expired I-94 (or about to expire I-94)
I-129 Receipt Notice (Notice of Action, federal form I-797)
Copy of 8 CFR 274a.12 (b)(20) and 8 CFR 214.2(h)(1)(ii)(B)(1)

저도 몇년전에 같은 상황이었는데 Cap-Gap로 9/30까지 유효한 I-20를 학교에서 받아서 그걸로 9/30만료 운전면허 우선 받고 10/1일날 H-1B 승인서로 3년짜리 받았습니다. 참고로 펜실베니아에서 발급 받았습니다.
OPT로 받은 7월 만료 운전면허증을 가지고 있다가 Cap-Gap I-20로 9/30일 만료 운전면허증으로 갱신하고 10/1일에 H1-B 승인서로 H-1B 만료일에 맞춘 3년짜리를 받았습니다.

같은 리뉴케이스는 아닙니다만,
혹시 다른 몇군데 더 시도해보실거면 Somerville 추천합니다.
저도 뉴저지 많은 DMV를 가봤는데 Somerville이 제일 우호적이었고 DMV특유의 띠꺼움도 덜했습니다. 구글리뷰보면 다른곳은 막 2.몇인데 요긴 4입니다. 참고하세요.
