I would like to bring into the attention of the US News editors that, their Ranking regarding World’s Best Universities, which they have borrowed from the LONDON TIMES newspaper in the UK, has made (i.e. the Ranking) a lot of people worldwide to feel skepticism about the veracity and reliability of US News.In fact, this is highly unfair, because US News used to publish so far the best and most reliable rankings.
Hence I would like to kindly ask the editors of US News to consider seriously this fact: even the Ministry of Education in the UK does not take into account the Ranking of LONDON TIMES regarding World’s Best Universities !!! Instead, the Ministry publishes every four years (or so) its own Ranking regarding Universities, which is known as RAE.
Therefore it is unfair for (the international reputation of) US News to publish a Ranking that is not respected even in its own country . . .
In my opinion, the most strange thing in this Ranking is that the University of California at Berkeley appears in the list below the University of Bristol in the UK. The latter is of course a very good university, but currently it has no Nobel Laureates in its faculty. UC Berkeley, instead, has over 10 Nobel Laureates in its faculty right now . . .

To make the ranking self consistent, I did some homework using elementary school math to average the individual rankings provided, and find the following:“A” stands for Social Sciences ranking, “B” is for Engineering and IT ranking, “C” is for Life Sciences and Biomedicine ranking, “D” is for Natural and Physical Sciences ranking, “E” is for Social Sciences ranking, and “F” is the Average of all Rankings.
The lowest average ranking number is put at the top. Enjoy it…
