    Web Programmer

    Position Description:

    Our client company in Glendale Heights, IL. seeks an experienced and talented web Programmer.
    Applicants must be creative and he/ she will focus on developing a seamless workflow between the Graphic Designer and IT Manager. This will include assisting in development and continuous improvement of the website, proactively suggesting new website content and features. Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, and a working knowledge of PHP and object-oriented patterns is required.

    Job Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Work closely with Graphic Designer/IT Manager to problem-solve, troubleshoot, create and update images, artwork and
    functionality for website
    • Work with Graphic Designer/ IT Manager to translate designs from print to web.
    • Work with IT Manager to create designs for weband social media.
    • Ensure layout of website content is accessible; recommend improvements as necessary.
    • Perform updates to existing website.
    • Alert team to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into website operations.
    • Monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research recommend, and apply new technologies as
    necessary.
    • Establish web communications as a substantial fundraising asset.

    Required Skills

    • Associate degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Web Programming, or a related field, or significant equivalent
    experience
    • Advanced knowledge of PHP and Object-oriented patterns
    • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
    • Minimum of two years Web programming experience, including PHP or JSP, and Lamp development.
    • Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
    • Experience developing and implementing open source software projects
    • Database entry skills a plus
    • Self-starter with strong self-management skills

    Knowledge and Critical Skills:

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, problem solve, and work as part of a team
    • Outstanding verbal, written, and e-mail communication skills
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse donors and groups
    • Comfortable in fast-paced environment and highly detailed oriented
    • Lamp Development experience preferred
    • The ability to handle my SQL
    • Has solid experience in developing enterprise applications for the web
