We are currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer for Steel Processing Center in AL. This position is primarily in charge of testing and incoming inspection personnel and activities, providing robust quality support for daily operations, inclusive of launch activities, shipment material batch releases, testing and validation quality reporting, support for product and process quality improvement and attainment of plant quality objectives.
• Investigate and identify internal and external root causes of defects, communicate and close cases with the responsible managers.
• Have a good knowledge of steel such as PCM, STS, EG and HDG.
• Develop and administer Quality directives, programs, processes, procedures, and controls to ensure that quality systems conform to company, customer, industry, and governmental standards.
• Ensure timely and proactive corrective/preventative action implementation and verifications.
• Lead and or participate on functional teams working on process compliance and/or improvement activities.
• Monitor and reports trends in Quality performance metrics and the impact of process improvements through management reviews.
• Collect and analyze quality data relating to internal and external audits.
• Review risk management assessments as input to investigations and communicate potential risks of non-compliance or non-conformance.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and quality engineering support (including statistical analysis) to project teams and others responsible for investigations and compliance activities to resolve quality problems in development, production, or as requested.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Management Systems.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Responsible for multi-plant/multi-division quality systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
