Now Editing “Tax treaty 혜택 (1042-S) 이 끝난 후 받은 장학금 소득신고에 대해 여쭤봅니다- (” Name * Password * Email Topic Title (Maximum Length 80) 안녕하세요- 아무래도 여기 여쭤보면 뭔가 답을 얻을 수 있을듯 해서 여쭤봅니다. 2014년에서 2019년 5월까지 박사과정을 했고 stipend로 받는 소득에 대해서는 학교에서 1042-S form을 발급해주었습니다. 졸업후 새로운 직장으로 옮기고 난 후 담당자에게 2019년 1월부터 4월까지 받은 장학금에 대한 1042-S를 발급해 달라고 하니 tax treaty 5년 혜택후 6년 차 들어가면서 제 status가 바뀌었다면서 소득증빙서류를 발급해줄 수 없다는 소리만 반복합니다. 이런 경우는 어떤 폼을 요청해야 하는지요? 아시는 고수님들 답변 부탁드립니다. 감사합니다! 아래는 그 택스담당자의 답변입니다. Since 2019 was your 6th year in the U.S. as a F-1 student your tax residency status changed to U.S. resident. As a resident your fellowship payments do not have tax withheld at the time of payment and therefore the amounts are not reported on Form 1042-S. The amounts you received are still considered income and should be included with your 2019 tax return but they will not be reported on any tax form from the University.
