This includes ensuring the production schedules are met, maintaining inventory control, monitoring machine performance, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the molding equipment. The role also involves working closely with other departments such as quality control, engineering, and maintenance to ensure product quality and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules for injection molding operations. Coordinate with the production team to ensure that molds, materials, and equipment are available for scheduled production. Monitor daily production output, adjusting schedules and resources as necessary to meet production targets and deadlines. Inventory Control: Maintain inventory levels of raw materials, molded components, and finished goods to ensure continuous production flow. Work with the procurement team to ensure that inventory levels are sufficient, while minimizing excess stock. Implement and maintain a system to track and report on material usage, spoilage, and wastage. Process Optimization: Monitor the performance of injection molding machines, adjusting settings and parameters to ensure optimal production efficiency and product quality. Troubleshoot issues in the molding process and collaborate with engineering/maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges. Implement and track continuous improvement initiatives for production processes. Quality Assurance: Work with the quality control team to ensure all molded parts meet required specifications. Ensure proper documentation for inspections, testing, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Analyze production data and quality metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Machine and Equipment Monitoring: Ensure that molding machines are properly maintained and serviced to minimize downtime. Work with the maintenance department to schedule preventive maintenance and address any machine malfunctions. Reporting and Documentation: Create and maintain detailed production reports, including machine downtime, output, and any production issues. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs). Team Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth production processes. Ensure that the team adheres to company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Provide training and guidance to production staff on best practices and standard operating procedures. Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred. At least 2-3 years of experience in injection molding or production control, with a focus on manufacturing processes. Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and process optimization. Knowledge of quality assurance and safety protocols within manufacturing environments. Skills: Strong understanding of injection molding machines, processes, and materials. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
