Hello, 

I have been working in NY and my W4 married status had two allowances of me and my spouse. So far my husband hasn’t been working but he will start his job in CA next week. 

I am wondering what changes should be made on W4 for each of us .

Please let me know any advice and thank you in advance. 

How much will both of you make in 2013?
Do you have a child? How many children do you have?
Do you have a house with mortgages?

In my case, my hubby and I marked “married” and “0” deduction because we didn’t have a child or a mortgage. We usually paid the extra taxes to federal and state when filing tax returns.
If both of you are high income earners, you may end up paying more taxes when filing tax returns. If you don’t like to pay taxes at filing, you can take more deduction by putting additional $ on W-4.
