water heater 특별한 mainteance는 없는것으로 알고 있습니다. 1년에 한번정도 gas 끄고, 안에 차있는 물 다빼줘서 cleaning 해주고 anode rod 갈아주는 정도?

What Should I Do?

Some say you should do it once a year to prolong the life of the heater, but it really depends on the water quality of your area. In my area water heaters won’t rot in 20 years without any maintenance, so there is no point of doing it. I heard the national average is like 10 years.

Sometimes the “preventive” maintenance of draining leads to a headache. I’ve seen more than one case in which the valve won’t shut completely after draining. It is really a messy to job to change the valve near the bottom of the tank.

So if you are not at risk of rotting away the heater rather quickly, don’t do it.

윗분이 자세히 설명해 주셨는데 뒷북치면 사는 지역에 따라 물이 얼마나 hard하냐에 따라 수명이 달라지는 것 맞습니다. 캘리포니아경우 6년에서 10년입니다.
가끔 워터히터가 새것인데도 물이 미지근하거나 데워지지 않는다면 밑 탱크에 찌꺼기가 많이 쌓여서 그런데 한번 flush – 히터의 개스와 위 들어오는 물을 잠근 후 탱크아래 꼬지에 호스를 연결해서 물을 다 빼내면 찌꺼기들이 함께 다 청소되고 이후에 다시 새 물을 받아서 개스를 다시 키면 제대로 작동을 합니다. 1년에 1번은 안해도 되고 가끔 미지근하다 싶으면 (2-3년?) 해 주면 도움이 됩니다.
