Quakers didn’t approve institutional religion and formal religious leaders such as pastors. They believed individuals can reach higher level by their own effort and prayer(a bit of similarity to Buddism here). They often gathered in group at a meeting house and read bible or prayed or meditated swaying their bodies sideways. That is why they were also called Shakers. They condemned the pursuit of pleasure including singing(even hymns).
They focused on frugality,non-violence and common good. They were considered heresy by mainstream Puritans in Massachussetts in colonial times and built their own colony in Rhode Island.
Amish don’t believe in the goodness of modern civilization such as electricity or mechanical engineering and they keep to themselves. They maintain old ways of living including quaint attire, manual craft such as pottery and carpentry. They are very religious and go to church run by bishops.
A lot of Amish are german by heritage and there is big colony of Amish in Pensylvania.
