We are currently seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Procurement to join our dynamic team in Clarksville, TN as part of the new Home Appliance (H&A) Factory Team. This Manager will have the responsibility for sourcing key vendors for the new manufacturing plant in the Nashville, TN region.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will be responsible for Supplier Management including: Source Identification, Selection, Development, and Evaluation. This individual will be responsible for:
•Leading sourcing projects to identify, evaluate and select preferred suppliers. This includes qualitative and quantitative analysis of suppliers for raw materials for laundry manufacturing such as steel and resin; Components for laundry manufacturing such as injection molds, press, die casting, electric/electronics parts; and packaging and printing materials
•This individual will be responsible for Contract Management for all designated H&A commodities.
•Analyze competitors’ supply chain, manufacturing system, and cost structure
•Establish purchasing strategy and organization for this new manufacturing facility
•Review supplier’s T’s & C’s, identify potential contract risks, and develop a plan to reduce risks
•Communicate those risks to the respective stakeholders to develop best alternative “Contract” languages for LG
•Review suppliers’ price & quality and analyze the cost table
•Develop tools & plans to execute systematic & efficient negotiation strategy
•Lead project prioritization and execution.
•Lead and influence manufacturing team and stakeholders on a course of action.
•Formulate plans with minimal or vague information.
•Lead and develop cost decomposition analysis leading to the discovery and elimination of waste
•Gather and analyze key procurement metrics using data collection techniques (downloading of transactional data to spreadsheet format) in order to report results to Senior Management.
•Lead and develop savings reports, PowerPoint presentations and any other ad hoc reports.
•Position will be responsible for communicating with internal stakeholders (internal departments including HQ) and external suppliers or 3rd party providers.Requirements:
•A Bachelors Degree in Management or related field is required.
•A minimum 5 years experience of procurement in home appliance industry is preferred
•A proven track record of strategically sourcing raw material such as steel, resin and factory components to include injection molding, presses, die casting, and electronic/electrical parts
•Experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process in the home appliance industry is preferred
•Six-sigma management process and or experience working with Kaizen methods is highly preferred
•Supplier management and negotiation is required
•Strong communication skills and willingness to work in multi-national organization is required
•Fluency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required
•Korean language skill is a plus but not required.
