What would like to know about Cary? I have lived in Cary for 2 years. I chose this area for education of my daughter (My work is in Durham). So, I can’t exactly answer your question until I know your interest. Could you make a reply about that. Then, I can write Korean at home.

Cary is one of very fast growing cities in the US. Population of Cary is about 120,000 now. When I came hear first two years ago, it was 100,000. As you know, state capitol is in Raleigh, so Cary could be called as a bed town of Raleigh. We call this area Triangle area, because we have research triangle park (triangle of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill). This area is simillar to Daeduck(Taejeon) Research Park in Korea. So, average level of education is very high (some people say the highest percentage of PhD degreer in the world). Major industry is agriculture (tabaco etc…) but triangle area accomodates many research center of different companies and industries. The company which hires the most number of people is IBM and then GSK excluding government and universities(Duke, UNC, NCSU, etc…). But outside of triangle is very rural and less developed. Maybe, you can see rednecks(my american friends say that. not me). Living cost is not as high as that of Califonia and East. But I feel it is high if we think the size of city, crowedness (I am from a much bigger city of the south, but living cost of this area is much higher than that of the bigger city).
People(Korean) say that about 5,000 Koreans live in this area. Metro triangle has 1,300,000 population (less than 1%). But we have 10 Korean supermarkets and about 7 Korean (including Japanese one owned by Korean) restaurants in this area. I don’t know the number of Korean churches, but we have many Korean churches. As I said before, Wake county, the county of Cary, has a very excellent school system. About 3 years ago, it was selected as the 2nd best public school system in the US. And this area is the only place which has the good stream of a education system from elementary schools through colleges in the US. So I like it and I don’t like it because this area is so academic. You can see so many people in libraries at any time. That’s it.
