Was wondering if anybody here could recommend apts near midtown manhattan area (east side). Last time I checked with the local brokers, they charge 15-20% and some apt around $1500-1600 was pretty crappy…

Even the ones around $1900-2000 are small without doorman. Is that just how the market is these days? Any recommendations?

I just don’t feel like spending $2000 on rent plus 20% broker fee with a no-lux apt without doorman nor decent bathrooms…

    Thanks in advance!

Depends on East side. If you go to 1st or york ave, it will be cheaper, but not many nice apartment. 2000$ Studio might work with door man..but no 1 bed room with that price. check other webistes..and also newyork.craigslist.org… what about moving to queens? if you work in mid east, queens is not that bad to commute.

      2-bedroom: $5,003/mo

That’s why many people live in Jersey City, Edge wather, LIC, and so on.

It really depends on the area in NYC…
If you pay less than $1500 in midtown, it would be really old or tiny.
Broker fee..it is what it is in NY.
