Vice President of Construction
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Position Overview
Responsible for overall construction management at Toyota Housing, including strategic planning, execution oversight, quality control, safety and compliance, and leadership of the construction team to ensure homes and related projects are completed on time, safely, and to a high quality.Key Responsibilities
Develop and drive construction strategies to ensure project objectives (cost, schedule, and quality) are achieved;Lead the project management team (project manager, supervisor, site management, etc.) to oversee construction execution throughout the entire process;
Control budget and schedule, and promptly identify and address risks such as cost overruns and delays;
Establish and maintain supplier and subcontractor systems, responsible for bidding, contract negotiation, and quality assessment;
Drive quality control, workmanship standards, and acceptance procedures to ensure housing quality meets regulatory requirements;
Ensure full implementation of on-site safety regulations and compliance (such as OSHA and local building codes);
Promote the use of digital tools (BIM, ERP, construction management systems, etc.) to improve management efficiency;
Collaborate with design, development, procurement, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure smooth processes;
Establish KPIs (such as project delivery rate, cost savings, and safety record) and continuously improve them;
Provide on-site construction guidance and management training to enhance team professional capabilities;
Perform construction support tasks for business expansion, EPC projects, or expansion into new markets.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in architectural engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field;At least 10 years of experience managing a full-cycle construction or residential project, including at least 5 years of experience managing large teams or across multiple regions;
Experience in residential development or construction preferred, and familiarity with residential project processes preferred;
Excellent construction budgeting, scheduling, contract negotiation, and risk management skills;
Proficient in building codes and safety standards, with relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, Registered General Contractor license preferred);
Experience in construction and project management systems (ERP, BIM, ProCore, etc.) preferred;
Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication and coordination skills;
Ability to drive change and collaborate across departments, adapting to a fast-paced, multi-project management environment;
