문제는 일본지도 에 동해를 sea of Japan으로 표기해서 m***usa 싸이트의 회원들이 정정메일을 보냈는데 좋은의도로 했으니 조용히 참여해라는 식의 성의없는 반응을 보이다 사태가 커져 잠정 중단 판매를했네요.문제는 페북 제이크루 공지에 달린 미국애들의 반응입니다. 구글에도 Sea of Japan 인데 제이크루가 먼잘못이냐 공식적 이름은 Sea of Japan이다 제이크루는 좋은의도로 하는건데 너네 코리안들 과거일 잊고 move on해라등..참 대한민국 정부의 무능함이 안타깝네요.

I disagree about the name. Sea of Japan is the offical name.
Korea has been campaigning to change it to East Sea for the reasons the
concerned customer wrote about. No change has been made though.Let’s face it, there are alot of places and names that could be offensive when looked at through a historical lense.
As
a scholar of East Asian Studies and Japan in particular, I am very
familiar with Korea’s issues (there are MANY disputes over territory and
names) and frankly wish they would move on. Many countries have
experienced the horroes of war and I believe that Japan paid it’s debt
for it’s past long ago.it’s not fair that the victims of this
tragedy have to be judged and looked at differently because of something
that happened 60 years ago.i would have bought the shirt proudly if I had seen it in time.

I wouldn’t criticize anyone for letting J Crew know about
their sea name mix-up, but a boycott? Isn’t that a bit extreme?
They’re trying to raise some money to help the people in Japan, why be
so harsh on them? MapQuest shows “Sea of Japan” as do many other sites.

I don’t think J.Crew made an error. There is a dispute about the
name, but the Sea of Japan is still the more commonly used name.
