The IRS has determined that taxpayers who filed 2022 federal income taxes before February 10, 2023 and reported certain state 2022 tax refunds as taxable income should consider filing a Form 1040-X amended tax return. The IRS has provided a State Payments chart listing individual states and associated payment programs that are affected by this decision.
