정말 답답하네요.

2순위로 2006년 10월쯤 영주권 신청 후, 2007년 4월에 receipt no. 받고 몇차례 USCIS office를 방문하여 겨우 작년(2008) 8월에 background check가 끝났다는 letter를 받았습니다.
이후 6개월 기다려라, 다시 6개월기다려라…너무 늦어지는 듯 해서 변호사를 통해 status request 넣고 2개월 기다리라는 답변이후, 이제는 정말 마지막방법이다 라는 생각으로 상원의원께 편지하고 어제 받은 답이 “additional review해야하며 longer processing time을 요하므로 다시 6개월이내에 답변이 없으면 연락하라”는 letter를 받았습니다.

혹시 저와 비슷한 상황이신 분 계신가요? 이런경우 어찌해야하나요?
회사는 bankruptcy filing을 곧 할 예정이고, H1B는 올 10월까지밖에 살아있지 않고요.
여러가지 억울한 상황속에서도 조금만 조금만 하며 정말 너무나도 힘겹게 지금껏 버텨왔는데…
이제 다시 새로운 H1B 스폰서 회사를 찾아야할 지경에 있네요.

There is not much you can do about it unless waiting. You can send letter to the office of first lady or vice president, but it may be same result. For your visa status, if your i140 was approved, then you can invoke AC 21 to move to new firm. And you can use EAD in lieu of H1B. You may be better to move new firm rather than wait and get RFE later for bankrupt company.
People may think their life will be change big time after getting gc. But it won’t because life is life. So don’t think too much about getting gc and enjoy and live day by day. It is my 2 cents. Then one day you will open mail box and the card will wait for you. Cheers
