    Summary

    The Manager – Subsidiary Control will lead the financial support team for Glovis subsidiaries; the job duties included but not limited overseeing operation, accounting practice, financial reporting and internal controls for Glovis subsidiaries. This position will provide strategic oversight and serves as the main liaison between subsidiaries, HQ, and external advisors.

    Responsibilities

    Demonstrate Strategic leadership, process improvement, internal control design & oversight
    Oversee financial operations for Glovis subsidiaries
    Understand current GUS subsidiaries operation; provide feasible improvement plans and execute
    Build subsidiary finance team and operation team capabilities
    Provide on-site and off-site support such as monthly closing, consolidation, and financial reporting
    Prepare management tools to provide accurate information for major account items: such as PPE, Loan, Depreciation and Lease. The information should contain accuracy of the presentation and valuation
    Check data consistency among different operation and financial systems
    Review and improve current accounting practices, existing policy and procedures, and check for effectiveness and efficiency
    Check for any discrepancies in actual operation and established policies
    Evaluate internal controls and establish controls in case of missing
    Prepare and list up needed financial reports including Monthly, Quarterly and annually financial variance analysis and check in depth analysis including seasonality and temporary effect
    Trend analysis for different major business partners
    Cost analysis by routes
    Perform / supervise budgeting, planning and forecasting
    Establish budget and annual planning based on establish yearly plan
    Prepare and perform progress report to evaluate and re-route actual operation
    Design and review internal controls (K-SOX): including establish Risk Control Matrix and compliance tools
    Plan and perform compliance test based above controls, and check for its compliance practice
    Coordinate with tax advisors and support tax compliance reviews
    Check local tax authorities for possible tax liability
    Provide accurate tax related information to all stakeholders in timely manner
    Actively communicated all stakeholders regarding important existing, probable and possible issues which might impact operation and financial activities
    Be a mentor to its team members providing clear example and guideline 
    Support testing or rollout of accounting tools/process changes
    Assist in system or process standardization efforts
    Provide guidance to site staff on reporting formats or submission
    Effectively communicate among different stakeholder including GHQ, GUS and Subsidiaries

    Compensation Range

    $101,000-$118,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree Required 
    Master’s Degree Preferred 
    7 – 10 years of experience relating to Accounting, Financial Auditing, or Financial Compliance Required
    8 – 11 years of experience relating to Accounting, Financial Auditing, or Financial Compliance Preferred 
    1 – 3 years of supervisor experience Required
    4 – 7 years of supervisory experience Preferred
    Auditing Training Preferred
    CPA or CIA certification or license Preferred 

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
    Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
    Possibility of both international & domestic travel – 30%
