    The HSE Director (Health, Safety and Environment Director) is an important position in the company responsible for the overall management of the health, safety and environment (HSE) area. The following is the job description of the HSE Director, including its main responsibilities, qualifications and job requirements.

    Strategic Planning

    Develop and implement the company’s HSE strategy to ensure alignment with the company’s overall strategic goals.

    Identify and assess HSE risks and develop effective risk management and mitigation measures.

    Policy and Procedure Development

    Develop and update HSE policies, standards and procedures to comply with laws and regulations and industry best practices.

    Monitor the implementation of policies and adjust them as needed.
    Compliance Management

    Ensure that the company complies with all relevant health, safety and environmental laws and regulations.

    Conduct compliance audits, identify violations and develop corrective actions.
    Training and Education

    Design and implement employee HSE training programs to enhance employee safety and environmental awareness.

    Organize safety drills and emergency drills regularly.
    Reporting and Analysis

    Monitor, record and analyze HSE indicators, prepare relevant reports and report to management.

    Conduct accident investigations, identify root causes, and make recommendations for improvements.

    Cross-departmental collaboration

    Work closely with other departments (such as operations, HR, legal, etc.) to promote the establishment and development of HSE culture.

    Participate in risk assessment and management of projects to ensure that HSE factors are effectively considered during project implementation.

    External relationship management

    Communicate with government, regulatory agencies, non-profit organizations and other stakeholders on behalf of the company.

    Participate in activities of industry associations and professional organizations to enhance the company’s reputation in the HSE field.

    Qualifications

    Educational background: Bachelor degree or above in environmental science, occupational safety and health, engineering or related majors.

    Work experience: At least 5 years of work experience in the HSE field, more than 3 years of management experience.
    Professional certification: Those with relevant HSE certifications (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, etc.) are preferred.

    Knowledge requirements: Familiar with national and regional HSE regulations, and master the implementation and maintenance of HSE management systems (such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.).

    Skills required: Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills; good analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Personality traits

    Strong sense of responsibility and professional ethics, and a passion for promoting health, safety and environmental protection.

    Excellent coordination skills, able to handle multi-party relationships in a complex environment.

    Strategic thinking, able to effectively plan and manage the HSE field from a global perspective.
