HR1044 반대할 가능성이 있는 상원의원 명단 좀 알려주세요. 이메일이라도 보내봐야겠습니다. 아무리 생각해도 이렇게 졸속적으로 중요한 이민법을 기습처리한다는 게 말이 안되는 것 같습니다. 아시는 분 있으시면 알려주세요. David Perdue 의원한테는 이메일 보냈습니다. 그역시 문제가 해결되면 지지하겠다고 했지만요. 일단 이렇게 졸속입법은 민주적 절차에 맞지도 않고 투명하지도 않다고 메세지 보냈습니다.
메세지는 다음과 같이 썼습니다. 최소한 민주적 절차라도 밟게 이런 졸속 결정은 반대해달라고 했습니다. 혹시라도 메세지 보내실 분은 가져다 쓰셔도 좋습니다.
Dear Senator ,
I was very shocked to see yesterday’s UC process in the Senate about HR 1044/S386. Without any sufficient discussions, processes of debates, and public openness (look at the media coverage, how little it is), it was on the verge of decision-making without the public attention. As a valued member of the U.S., I endorse any effort to address inequity, but I don’t see how this bill truly addresses inequity in immigration policies. I see more of the interest group’s lobbying efforts, especially given the “sneaking” way of passing the bill through UC. Many of the immigrants and Green card applicants themselves are not aware of this bill, who should be affected the most by this law. I believe at least this should be discussed more openly with time and transparency, not via such a rash UC procedure like yesterday. I want to see more of the open discussion and democratic decision-making process. So I sincerely ask you to oppose Bill HR1044/S386 if it gets to be standing on the Senate floor next week again, at least for the due process given its serious impact for many people and for transparent and fair decision-making efforts. 네, 밑에 어떤 분이 쓰신대로, 영어가 제 모국어가 아니라 많이 서툽니다. 많은 이민자들과 이민 신청자분들이 같은 상황이라 생각하여 서툴지만 써보았습니다. 의미는 전달되리라 믿습니다. 그리고 상원에 계류중인 법안은 HR1044가 아니라 S386이라고 하시네요. 알려주셔서 감사합니다. 이 모든 상황은 엊그제서야 알게 되어 알아가야 할 것들이 더 많네요.
