이런경우 운전면허시험에 응시하기 위해 Denial Letter를
받아야 한다고 하는데…
Denial Letter를 받으려면 H4 Visa 소지자도
Social Security Office를 방문해야 하나요?

제가 갔던 캘리의 한 DMV에는 SSN을 받을 수 없는 비자의 list가 있던 것으로 기억합니다. 저의 경우 그 list가 오래 되어서 집사람이 가지고 있는 O-3 비자가 SSN을 받을 수 있는 것으로 되어 있어 SSA에 문의한 결과 다음과 같은 답변 이메일을 받았습니다.

If ineligible to be assigned an SSN, Social Security offices can provide written notice using Form SSA-L676 to explain that an SSN cannot be assigned or a card issued due to your not having provided authorization to work in the United States or evidence of a valid nonwork reason for needing an SSN.

If you wish to be issued an SSA-L676 notice, we suggest that you go into a Social Security office with your Form I-94 and passport.
