What is the normal(average) fee that will be charged by lawyers in LA?
According to phone call with Korean lawyer in LA, $3.000 is lawyer’s fee in order to process H1 VISA and there is extra charge for the documents.
what he said to me is: $3,000(for lawyer) + $3,185 ( for documents/ processing fee)
= total 6,185$$$$$$

In this website,I have tried to find out the total fee incurred by H1b visa process. But there is not such imformation. I wonder 6,185$ for H1b processing fee is normal or I am lack of imformation.
is it true? or, if it is true, than do I have to pay all the fee at once when I apply?

좀 과한건 같네요. 여기는 뉴욕인데 보통 변호사비만 $1,000 ~1,500 부르던데요. 아무리 끝에서 끝이라 해도 차이가 좀 심하네요.

변호사 retainer는 변호사 맘입니다. 3천 아니라 3만 달라고 해도 누가 뭐라고 못합니다. 비싸다고 생각되면 딴 변호사 알아보면 되는 것이고요.
두어군데 더 알아보시고 싸고 평판이 좋은 곳에 맡기세요. 제가 할때는 뉴욕에 잘한다는 변호사에게 2천정도 줬던것 같은데, 그게 3년전 이야기니, 별 도움이 되는 정보가 아니겠네요.
한가지, 이미법은 연방법이라, 미국내 어디에 있는 변호사를 쓰든 상관없습니다. 요즘 LA 부동산 값이 많이 올랐다는데, 그 3천안에 사무실 임대료도 상당히 차지하고 있겠네요. 시골(?)에 있는 똘똘한 변호사 찾아보세요. 전에 이 게시판에 Claudia 인가… 하는 변호사가 평판이 좋던데요…
