How to use the Firewall program? I had to format my hard disk again to reinstall WindowsXp due to too slow internet connection and keep changing the systems clock back to yr 1933 or 2043, and too many Skyware, but no virus.

So, i download a firwall program and trying to run during internet time, but the problem is the connection speed is so slow or never works with the firewall program. I tried a lot of different way to set up the firewall program but i could not figure it out how to use interent with the software. When i turn off the firewall program the internet works as normal.

Could anyone explain me how to use/config any firewall program and what to download and how to use it?

ZONE ALARM 한번 써보세요.쓰기 쉽고 TWO WAY FIREWALL이라서 어떤 PROGRAM이 INTERNET에 연결해도 되는지 자신이 RULE을 만들수 있다는 점이 마음에 들더군요. 저도 그냥 CASUL USER 라서 FIREWALL 하고 INTERNET CONNECTION SPEED 하고의 연관성이 그렇게 크게 있는지는 모르겠는데 제 경험으로는 FIREWALL이나 AV PROGRAM들이 RESOURCE를 많이 잡아먹어서 (말하자면 MEMORY하고 CPU USAGE) INTERNET CONNECTION이 정상이라도 WEB PAGE 뜨는데는 시간이 걸리는 경우가 있는거 같더군요.

그리고 system clock이 reset 되는건 cmos battery 한번 갈아보세요.

Thanks for the tips. I changed the system battery. It did not help.
After formating the drive, reinstalling Windows, the clock is back to the good condition.

I downloaded ZONE Alarm. It was cool, but it slow the internet connection down little bit, like you mentioned about it.
