오늘 여행중 5S에서 얼바인쪽으로 빠져 나가다가 FASTRAK이라고
쓰여진곳을 지나가다 소리가 울렸습니다.
자세히 보니 돈을 내라는 표시가 있었는데 40불인가 옆에 표시되어있었던것 같습니다.
나갈때는 소리가울렸고 다시 돌아올때는 그것이 설치되지않은 5N쪽으로 나왔습니다.
이게 도대체 무었인가요 그리고 제가 랜트한 차인데 어떻게 처리되는가요

Q. I am not a FasTrak™ accountholder and I used the FasTrak™ toll lane without paying the toll. Will I receive a violation payment notice?
A. Yes. When you pass through a toll lane without paying the toll, an image of your vehicle is captured. A violation notice is sent to the vehicle’s registered owner within 21 days of the toll violation at the address on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The notice requests payment for the toll amount and an additional $5 fee. If you fail to respond to the instructions on the notice, an additional $20 fee may be assessed and you risk having a hold placed on your vehicle’s DMV registration. When you receive the violation payment notice, please send your payment in the envelope provided. If you believe you have received the violation payment notice in error, please follow the instructions provided on the notice.
Q. Is there anything I can do to avoid getting a violation notice if I did not pay the toll?
A. No. When a violation occurs, a violation payment notice is sent to the vehicle’s registered owner. Toll collection staff are unable to accept payment for the violation tolls because it is not possible for them to match the payment with the violation that is being processed.
FAST TRACK은 말 그대로 toll에 서지 않고 자동차에 설치된 RF단말기로 자신의 통장에서 자동인출되는 lane입니다. 렌트카로 이용할 경우 당연히 이런게 없으니깐, FAST TRACK이용 벌금이 날아옵니다. 통행료+25불이죠.
거기다, 렌트카 회사에서는 수수료로 (한 5년 전에 25불 정도) 를 추가해서 님의 신용카드로 청구합니다. 즉… 통행료가 2불이었다면….
2불 + 25불 + 25불 = 52불이 카드로 청구됩니다….
