Hi,

Birth certificate was required for Green Card process, but I didn’t have one because I was not born at a hospital or any other public place. However, I was told Basic Certificate can be used instead. So, I got a Basic Certificate from Do-samoosoe in Korea but not sure how to translate the title. Should I say Basic Certificate or can I say Birth Certificate or something else. I am worried the US gove’t might think the document is not sufficient enough. Do anyone has a sample of translated Basic Certificate?

한국에서 발급되는 기본증명서는 이민국에서 요구하는 Birth Certificate의 조건을 충족시키지 못합니다. 그 이유는 기본증명서에는 부모의 이름이 명시되어 있지 않기 때문입니다.
따라서, 기본증명서와 가족관계증명서 (혹은 제적등본)를 제출하여 Birth Certificate을 대신합니다.
