Cite as “AILA InfoNet Doc. No. 09040862 (posted Apr. 8, 2009)”
USCIS has informed AILA that within the first five business days, USCIS received almost half the petitions needed to meet the FY2010 cap and has received just short of the 20,000 needed to reach the master’s cap. Additionally, on the day USCIS determines that sufficient petitions have been received, pursuant to 8 CFR § 214.2(h)(
(ii), the USCIS will conduct a random selection lottery from among petitions from those received on that day. Please see InfoNet for more information on the H-1B cap process and the random selection lottery process. AILA InfoNet Doc. No. 08031937—-For bachelor degree, there are still half of available spots and for master degree, there are a short of spot for H-1. But all candidates who send their application for H-1 by April 7.2009 can get a review of thier application without lottery.
What a good new!! FYI, this source comes from USCIS.
