현재 한국나이 31 이고 시민권을 따고가야하는이유는 영주권만있는상태에서 캐나다에서 (2 yrs out of 5 yrs) 살지 않으면 영주권을 박탈당하기 때문입니다 한국시민권+캐나다영주권자이구요.

투자은행 근처도 못가본 학생이여서 SS가 어디인지는 모르지만 이미 투자은행에서 일하고 계시면 2년 일 더하시고 시민권 따신 다음에 미국으로 이직하시는거도 괜찮지 않을까요?

네 근데 캐나다에서 미국으로 엠비에이 안통하고가는게 쉬운지 모르겠네요. 혹시 아시는분있으면 답변부탁드립다..

나이는 상관없어요. 35~40살 외국여자분 아이도 있으신 분인데 1~2년동안 토론토에서 주말마다 미국 가셔서 MBA하시고
작년 봄에 졸업해서 미국 뉴욕 투자 은행에 취직 했는데 코비드때문에 캐나다에서 일하다가
캐나다 pension fund 큰 곳 한 곳으로 정직원으로 가셨어요. pension fund 누가 회사를 나가야만 자리가 난다더군요.

33 살에 미국으로 MBA 가는거 괜찮은선택일까요 ? 현재 캐나다투자은행 에서 근무중, 미국 롱온리 가고싶습니다

Is it worth doing an MBA at 31 to work in the US at a buyside firm (long only/hf)

Hi I am currently working on SS as an equity research associate in Canada. I am not a Canadian citizen yet and will be getting it at the age of 31 한국나이 33 in 2023 I am planning to do my MBA at that time since I want to secure my citizenship first.

The goal is to work at a long only shops like wellington, fidelity, T rowe, or funds like citadel global equities etc.

Given limited options in Canada other than pension funds, I want to ideally get some experience in the US but was wondering if it makes sense to make this move. I am worried about my age being 33 at graduation to join as an analyst at a buyside firm, and if this move can have more upside (comp, career progression, possibility of starting something on my own etc) than working in Canada. If there’s anyone that has gone thru similar paths would appreciate any advice!
