내년 초에 미국으로 파견 근무를 가게 되어 회사의 지원 패키지를 받고 궁금해서 여쭈어봅니다.

건강 보험과, 그 외의 다른 보험들의 리스트가 다음과 같습니다. 제가 미국 생활에 대한 지식이 부족해서, 이 보험들이 충분한 수준일 지 아니면 따로 개인적으로 보험을 준비해야 할 지 궁금합니다.

저와 와이프는 40세, 두 아이들 (13, 11세)이 있습니다.

Health/Medical: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO Program
Home/Office Visit/$10 co-pay, Comprehensive coverage (acupuncture, family planning, emergency care, etc…), Unlimited lifetime maximum coverage, No annual deductibles

Dental: Assurant
Complete coverage of preventative services, $2,500 benefit per person each year, Additional $2,000 lifetime orthodontia

Eye/Vision: VSP
Free eye exam every 12 months, Prescription glasses lenses covered in full every 12 months, Frames of your choice OR contact lens care covered up to $120 every 12 months

Life: Hartford
Coverage of two times base salary, Maximum benefit of $500,000, No employee contributions

Disability: Hartford
Long-term, covers 60% of pre-disability earnings up to $10,000 per month
Short-term, covers 60% of pre-disability earnings up to $2,000 per week

Auto (Lease): Hartford
Coverage of all auto accidents, Deductible at $500 per incident

*Employees never owes any insurance premiums for themselves nor dependents

상당히 좋은 패키지네요.

Surely you don’t need to worry about. What kind of company is this? Is it insurance company? The benefit looks great! Especially health insurance I want to have.

아.. 좋은거였군요. 걱정은 안해도 되겠네요.

한국이나 다른 곳에서도 모두 의료보험은 비슷했던듯 싶은데.. 병원 방문시 조금 내고.. 큰 병이 있을 때 좀 부담이 되고.. (응급실 이용 여부와 질병에 따라서 100%가 보장이 아닌 경우도 있더군요. 호스피스 사용등에도 제약이 있고요..)
