NEW YORK, April 8 (newratings.com) – Analyst Sean J Ryan of Sterne Agee initiates coverage of Hanmi Financial Corporation (HAFC) with a “sell” rating. The target price is set to $5.50.

In a research note published this morning, the analyst mentions that the current earnings expectations for the company are over-optimistic, since they do not reflect the significant net interest margin compression, decelerating loan growth and accelerating credit costs. The analysts expect Hanmi Financial’s share price to fall going forward to 100% of the tangible book value.
